Born on April 28th, 1995 in Rivers State, Nigeria. Daniel Diongoli aka IDYL, is a Singer, Songwriter and a Performer. He hails from Akaran-biri in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Nigeria. IDYL started his career in 2012, after participating on the singing reality show ‘’X Factor’’in Nigeria.
Afterwards, he gained admission into Niger Delta University to Study Economics in 2013, and that was where his passion for music grew and he decided to take his career seriously. While in school,he got very popular because of his unique vocals, outstanding musical performances and renditions of hit songs which got him the award for Best RnB Pop Artiste in the school.
Fast forward to 2016, he released the song “TARI” which got him the attention of a much wider audience in Bayelsa and got him the award for Next Rated Artiste Award at the Bayelsa Media Awards in 2016. In the same year, he won an Award from the Roger Hammond Memorial Trust Fund in London, that also came along with a Music Scholarship which out of passion to improve on his trade, he proceeded to MUSON SCHOOL OF MUSIC, Lagos, Nigeria where he took short term lessons in learning how to play the Piano, Music theory, Vocal training etc.
He attained cult status after he auditioned for the singing contest “THE VOICE NIGERIA” where he was selected to be amongst the top contestants, and after 15 weeks of the competition he was crowned the winner of “The Voice Nigeria season Two. This bagged him a record deal from Universal Music Africa, during that time he released hit singles like ‘Better Love’, ‘Owami’ featuring South African singer Lungi Naidoo, ‘Satisfy Me’ featuring South African singer Rowlene, and ‘Iyoro’. IDYL has remained consistent in dropping bangers.
Taking time off the scene with the intention to rebrand, IDYL is back 2021 with a new single titled ‘JUJU’. He is also set to release a debut project before the year elapses.
