“’This song revolves around a failed situationship that i was in, it was a few months after everything had “finished up” and then i received a text asking ‘no happy birthday?’ around the time of their birthday. At the time i didn’t think it would be very appropriate to message back but it did spark the idea behind this song and a much deeper look into how i treated them and the reasons why it wasn’t going to work with us. Happy Birthday is an apology and how i wanted to introduce people to my project’ ”
