Lucas Emeodi AKA Kiing Lu is a music executive, A&R, Executive producer and the leader of the Militant Camp Movement. Born in Jos, Lucas began his career in music, creating and performing records as a musician and music producer in 2005. He moved to Ghana in 2008 to acquire an expansive experience into the workings of the music industry and music business.
After relative success abroad, he returned to Nigeria in 2014, where he joined a fledgling record label, serving as the label manager to harness and seed new talents into mainstream consciousness. In 2018, he took up a role at Universal Music Group Nigeria, guiding the establishment of the global music powerhouse as a local entity, via his efforts as an A&R exec, and the company’s Head of Promotions.
After years of knowledge acquisition, Lucas is extending his expertise into new territory: galvanising new sounds and artists, and releasing experimental DRILL records under the KIING LU brand.
With a supporting cast including, Odumodublvck, Eugy, Vector, Dremo, Skales and others, he released his first project “Militant Mindset” in 2023, it explores the local intersection of drill and Afrobeats.
